Project Title: Does a pre-test checklist improve students' ability to craft survey questions?
When: April - September 2022
Project Type: Educational Research
Skills Used: Quantitative Research (Surveys), Experimental Design, Statistical Analysis, Academic Writing
Software Used: Powerpoint, SPSS
About this Project: I worked with my colleague Lai Pek Hia to conduct educational research with a cohort of students taking the module T246 Design Research in April 2022 to find out how the use of a pre-test checklist would affect the feedback received from pre-testers about the survey questionnaires they created as compared to students in a control group who did not get to make use of a pre-test checklist template.
Conclusions of the study were that most students perceive the use of a pre-test checklist as useful in helping them gather feedback from pre-testers of their survey questionnaire.
The findings from this project were presented at Republic Polytechnic's Community of Practice: Learning through Evidence-based Action Research in September 2022
